Default Awning adjustment tip

I've now had more experience with my awning than anyone should ever have. It was nearly an inch from closing in the end above the door, and then the other end would stick when opening it. Anyhow, I wrote Fiamma and got some help from them in adjusting the awning to better close and was told to spray lubricant on the arm joints. With that, I got it within maybe 1/4" or so of closing and the lubricant totally fixed the other end sticking.

I wrote to them one last time saying-it's close but not quite there. Their tip was that if it's close, about 6" of tape attached stuck just in front of the 'roller' would for all practical purposes, increase the diameter of that end and it would take up more fabric. So, I stuck 6" of duct tape to the underside of the awning, rolled up the awning and Lordy Sakes alive-a perfect close!

This is probably common knowledge to many here, but just thought I'd throw it out for us newbies

I'm glad to have contributed.
BTW-the Fiamma folk said if it get closer but still doesn't make a good closing, to put a second layer of tape on the first one. I suspect if it closes too quickly, then the other end may not quite close, so I'd snip off some of the tape I put on the first time

Bill (if you're there?) maybe this info could be added to the Fiamma Awning tech info in the "you won't find anywhere else section".
