OEM 12V outlets really tight!
Starting to do a little work on the TM and thought I would check in to see if anyone else noticed that their OEM 12 volt outlets (both of them) are extraordinarily tight! It feels like they could pull out of the wall when I disconnect. I have to really brace the outlet cover and carefully pull and twist the plug.
I am going to replace them and probably add a couple more close to the sofa. But were these outlets always this snug? Or has something changed the diameter over the years? Plastic shrinkage, etc? Changes to dimensions of 12V plugs? I have to really force it (and twist) to connect and they are brutal to disconnect.

You're not alone. Several folks have seen the same thing and swapped them out. I added an outlet next to the fridge side.

Good to know! Thanks. I saw a post where someone else with an SL put one on each side at the tables. Nice idea. I’ll probably take a page from their book.

Those particular sockets were made by Winegard as part of their TV outlet panel. It is said (but I have not checked) that they are made to match a European standard. Why? Who knows? At any rate, I have never seen a non-Winegard outlet that is snug like this, so you needn't worry about accidentally buying one from another source.
Incidentally, my solution was to buy a one-outlet-to-two-outlet adapter, rub the body on a bar of soap to lubricate it, plug it into the Winegard outlet, and leave it there forever. Hey, you really need two of those 12-volt outlets, right?

I did similar to Bill. I found a quality dual USB plug-in for the 12V outlet, stuffed it in there, and left it alone.

Sounds like a very simple fix. I like simple. Don’t need the existing coax connection, but the less rewiring needed, the happier I am.

Keep in mind that coax is connected to the antenna AND cable tv input.

Thanks Shane. Didn't consider that. I have never used one in my previous trailer or motorhome (no antenna in my Bigfoot - it had gone the way of all things before I bought it), so it wasn't even on my radar. I suppose leaving it in place for future folks is a good idea.

They are brutal to disconnect!
I got a power plug stuck in my outlet and did end up damaging the wood behind the faceplate.
I would like to replace with an outlet + some USB ports like these: https://www.amazon.com/Exterior-Pane...9728545&sr=8-9
