I just noticed an article in yesterday's paper. According to the Detroit Free Press, automakers have agreed to a standardized set of towing-capability tests. These will replace today's hodge-podge of arbitrary "tests" that each maker devises for himself. Starting with the 2013 model year, not only will we be able to compare the ratings of various trucks against each other (which today is meaningless), but we will understand how those ratings were reached.
I can't wait. It will answer a lot of the questions and discussions we have here.
