adding additional speakers

Has anyone added additional speakers to their TM? I tried to add speakers to be used outside, but there is very little output and a lot of static when the volume is turned up about halfway. The stereo that is installed is a Pioneer car stereo.

Could you give a little more detail about your attempted installation? What type speakers, what type wire, wire routing and connection points.

If I was adding a pair of external speakers, I would use the "rear" speaker outputs from the stereo. Then the "front/rear fader" control would turn them on or off.

I wired the TM speakers as the front speakers and wired my outdoor speakers as the rear speakers. This allows me to use the fade control to keep the indoor volume a little lower than the outdoor volume.

This is exactly how i did it -

On the two leads/wires to a speaker, one is negative and one is positive. Check to make sure you have them right.

To the best of my knowledge:

1. the analog signal is a/c, therefore polarity really does not matter.

2. if two speakers are wired the opposite of each other (red/black versus black/red) then there will be a phase shift issue, but most people would never notice the difference. Especially in a campground.
