Default Old style box-shaped wheel well to newer style

Those of us who have the old style box-shaped wheel well should seriously consider rounding the wheel well because a blowout can cause much more damage to the box-shaped well. There is a method described here in the technical library about how to convert it to the rounded wheel well:

https://www.trailmanorowners.com/for...ighlight=wheel

I was looking at one of my old pictures and wondered about the possibility of completely removing and replacing the old style wheel well with the new style ordered from Trailmanor. It's likely more complicated that I am assuming for now, but it looks as if there are just a few rivets that could be drilled out to remove the box shaped wheel well, then rivet in the new rounded wheel well.

This would certainly be a more expensive way to go, but if it just involves drilling out a few rivets and rivetting in a new one, this method might make the job easier for some.

This is just a thought. No more than that. But this is how innovation happens.

Why not just use sheet metal?

If you use a much longer piece on the driver's side you could continue it back to cover the plumbing (with some bracing of course).

The sheet metal is the current method used (see links). I was just suggesting a possible alternative method that could be used if some one was not comfortable cutting and shaping sheet metal. It's probably not really worth considering, it was just a thought that came to mind.
