Default Traveling with a full water tank

We will be camping at a park that has electric hookups only. Would it be wise to fill our tank and toilet with water at home BEFORE we leave for the campground? Other than the additional weight, are there any other considerations we should be aware of? Has anyone else done this?

Different schools of thought on this but I never do this. The 20 gallon tank would add 160 pounds on the floor board and suspension and most people are near full weight capacity with other cargo anyhow.

Some will say they never had a problem doing this. Sure, until they have a problem.

Is it possible for you to carry water in big jugs in your tow vehicle?

Many "dry" campgrounds have a spigot near the entrance, enabling you to fill your tanks when you get there. Not necessarily handy, but do-able.

The mod TrailManorMan mentions is probably the one with the greatest value. It is so convenient to fill the tank on the way into the campground with the shells still down.
