The hangers are mounted to the cross rails that are welded to the frame ,the ones that hold the gray water tank and yes it is a vent and can be used to wash out the pipe too The Rip Holds 8 gal.

Question waste water holder

i'm really interested in duplicating your idea...i wonder if i could call you and/or
e-mail and/or fax some more details...i've fabricated some outside storage units
welded to the frame and i'm concerned about interferance etc...(see bill s entry
for outside storage ).. also ,how does the black water get flushed out...is it just gravity or does grey water help???? thanks, bill s

Default black tank waste water holder

Ripp, I know this is an old thread, but I like your idea and was wandering how this has worked out for you so far. I will be buying a 2619 and want to perform this conversion. Could you please provide a few more pictures showing the connection to the dump valves and a picture of the vent.
If not I understand.....you obviously put alot of time into thinking this through...and some times we want to hold onto our inventions...
If you want you can also email me at [email protected].

Thank You Sir....Rich

Default I don't see the pictures !

Posts 5 thru 10 seem to talk about 3 (or more) pictures of Rip's installation, but I don't see thumbnails of these photos.

Recho, Bill, and Rip: If anyone still has photos, can you please post 'em?

I dropped in tonight to search on exactly this topic-- adding additional black water storage to my 2619. It's nice to see that the issue has already been dealt with by smarter owners than me!

Unhappy 2619 "square box" would only be about 8 gallons

A length of pipe isn't gonna get me much volume-- I think that I need to build a rectangular box, using all of the available space, in order to create even 8 gallons worth of "black tank".

Looking at the entire length from the frame member at the tire, going back until I run into something (a drain valve), and using the entire height to the existing sewage valve handles, I get a maximum size of only:

height: 5" down to the top of the existing valve assembly
length: about 28-1/2" from frame member to drain valve.
width: 13-1/2" from frame member to side of the trailer.

total cubic inches: 1924, not counting width of box walls.
at 231 inches per gallon, that's 8.3 gallons-- about 8, after deducting for the space consumed by ABS walls on all sides. I'll also need metal shielding on the "tire" side, for protection from rocks.

Building a square box is lots more complicated than hanging a length of pipe-- and I'll need to be A+++ with my cementing technique, and glue additional reinforcements along the edges, because it will be shaken during travel.

I can easily craft a metal hanger along the outside edge of the TM, hanging from existing bolt #1 on the frame member which sticks out behind the tire, existing bolt #2 the forward-most of 3 bolts on the frame member which supports the lifting strut.

It might not be worth the trouble to "shrink" or move to allow for a little bit more space, but what is that box with the ventilation hole and a couple of visible wires behind the ventilation hole screen? Maybe an Output Vent for the fan of the WFCO electric panel?

Any/All Comments will be appreciated!

Wow, You must be planning on some really long camping trips. We find that the toilet will last for 4 days without dumping, if it is just the two of us.

I'm considering something similar, so I can gain an extra day or two.
