Vallye of Fire, Nevada
Last weekend we took our second camping trip in our new 2619 TM. We went to Valley of Fire about an hour north of Vegas for 4 nights. We managed to get a very nice campsite and had a great time. The weather was perfect with lows in the upper 40s and highs in the upper 60s. According to the ranger the most popular months are Oct, Nov, March and April. We can understand why. Friday and Saturday night the campground filled up. Other nights some sites remained available.
In the four nights we took a total of 7 showers. Our 40 gallon tank was half empty. That means we can go about a week taking showers before refilling it. We used the trailer water for showering, brushing teeth and as hot water for washing the dishes. We used campsite water for everything else. Our toilet was around 2/3 full after our two trips of totaling seven nights. We can probably go 10 days, if we are careful before draining the black water. Our batteries were recharged every day from the solar so we can go indefinitely on the two 6 volt batteries on the trailer. (We also have a built in 3500 watt generator, if needed). So it looks like we can go a week or so without any hookups and be perfectly comfortable. Most of our future camping will be in places without full hookups.
Our one key item we still have to get is the ability to access the Internet at high speed when we are in the boonies. Satellite is the way to go although the legal approaches are still very expensive (Datastorm). Many RVers take along their home DirectWay or Starband box and dish. It is illegal but aparrently not enforced. Not only do you get the Internet but is a broadband connection to boot!

Re:Vallye of Fire, Nevada
Custom RV, of Anaheim, CA installed a 3.5kw propane Generac Generator on front folding hitch. They moved the two propane bottles out to the side and put the generator between them. There is a remote starter in a panel near the refrigerator. It is integrated with my solar and the TrailManor's power system. Very nice. I'll try to post a photo of the setup. I have had problems posting photos in the past but I will try tomorrow.
My neighbor also has a generator on his 2720. also by Custom RV.
The only down side is that it makes for a very heavy tongue weight of around 726 lbs..

Re:Vallye of Fire, Nevada
Please move or continue this generator installation discussion in a new topic in the "How to and Modifications" area. It will be much easier for the rest of us to find for future reference if it is located there.
Thanx, MJL
