Default Electra Magic EZSlider tip

I have noticed a few post about the EZSlider Gaskets deforming.

First let me say Thetford took GREAT care of me on my toilet issues completely replacing mine with NIB replacement.

Now one of the issues I had was the valve gasket deforming & not sealing.

I came up with a fix that worked & still does so far.

1. I very carefully used a dental style pick set to get the deformed gasket to seal around the plastic slide disk.
2. After making sure it is closed & sealed I used a spray lubricant for rubber soaking the entire disk & Gasket like feeling a bowl left it there for a few days.
3. Opened the valve letting fluid drain out & gasket was now sealing GREAT so far opening & closing for over a year.

I don't know how long it will last but for now it works. Hope this helps someone.

About 18 months and many many toilet charges ago, when I had the toilet removed to replace the seals on the EZ Slide Valve (the second time in less than a year), I generously lubed all the moving parts (except the handle) with Dow Corning 111 Valve Lubricant and Sealant. It works beautifully. The valve still slides like it did when I lubed it, and there has been no seal deformation. Highly recommended. I think it is designed for use in valves under very high pressure, so while it may be overkill in this application, it seems like a sure-fix. I don't think you'd be able to lube it adequately without taking apart the valve, so it's probably not for everyone.

It has roughly the consistency of Neosporin....maybe even petroleum jelly. It comes in packets, toothpaste-sized tubes, and caulking tubes IIRC. I got the toothpaste-sized tube for ~$15 (I think on eBay), and it will undoubtedly last me as long as I have the trailer.
