Default Kitty-potty

We have been taking our feline family member with us on most of our camping trips this year. We decided to take out the chair out 2720SL since it was really not being used. DW wanted a footrest in place of it and since I like to make things that we carry camping "dual purpose" -- The outcome is a footrest with a litter box inside for Mattie.

Love it!!! Kitty loves being in our TM when we are home, but she gets carsick traveling. She does better when not in the cat carrier, but even after a short ride, she gets car sick very easily. She is leash trained, so we hook the halter and leash to a car seat, but still having problems. She had a rough time being moved from house to house while being a rescue. She is a one and only pet (cat or dog) person. We don't say pet, since this is how she was described to us on the website and rescue group and it's so true. She thinks she's a person.

Great idea, and I love the upholstery!

We used to take our snowshoe kitty with us when we went camping until she passed over the Rainbow Bridge in 2009 at the ripe old age of 20. She did OK in the truck, but I know she didn't much like camping in the TM. She used to wake us all up in the middle of the night and wouldn't stop meowing until I put her on the bed with us and calmed her down (imagine 4 adult size people plus a cat in the 2720 TM). Then I'd have to get up and put her back down on the floor....and hope that she wouldn't do it again....

About a year later we lost the outdoor cat, also 20 years old.

The neighbor has a couple of cats who take care of the gophers now.

I love this idea and want to incorporate your plan to use in front of the back bed between the walkway next to the bathroom which can perhaps be used as dual purpose stepping bench to get down from the bed. What material did you use to cover the sides?

I think it was broadcloth. Is not a real heavy material as we selected it based mainly on color to get spomewhat close to matching the material in our TM. Wraped the sides with batting first before covering with material. If your cat has front claws you better use really heavy material.
