DW has given me a new electric jack (Ultra 3002....3000 lb)...would like any advice on installing on a 2004 2720 SL both electrical and mechanical..

Thanks in advance.

I don't have one on my unit yet but I want one. I will keep an eye on this thread for pointers for my install in the future. Good luck.

Default Install electric jack

The easy way is to cut into the electric cable. The better way, which I did, is to run a wire directly to the battery with an inline fuse. It is automatically grounded when you bolt it to the hitch, so you need only one wire.

Default electric jack

Thanks for the response....did you have to modify the hole where the original jack was or did it fit? Also, did you establish the fuse at the battery or near the jack?

I think that the jack you have fits a 2" hole, which is what the TM has. You want the fuse near the jack; otherwise, you have to open the 2720 SL to access the fuse at the battery if it blows. You can also easily remove the fuse to prevent anyone from "playing" with the jack.

The electric jack I bought has a bigger shaft then the hole in the TM tongue. I haven't installed it yet, but it appears that I will be able to widen the hole with a Dremel. I have another wheel that should fit the new jack, but I haven't been able to locate it yet.
