Default TV Antenna: "Dial it in"

Interesting info. Maybe it will help.

Winegard Wingman for better TV reception?
Check THIS LINK for a good way to aim your antenna. Just click "choose antenna" to get started. It gives you a map and directions, channel numbers, distance and station call letters. You will need to know your location's zip code.
You may already know this too. The pointer on the dial where you crank/turn the antenna is not the direction for aiming. It only helps you align the antenna for lowering. http://www.antennaweb.org/aw/Welcome.aspxgn

Just some trivia:
The Wingman adds a director to the existing antenna array. It will improve reception for channels in the Uhf band --> channels 14+. It is not designed for reception improvement in Vhf band --> Ch-2-13.

While camping, I've used AntennaWeb many time to help find a station, good website!

To align my antenna i just use a compass App in my DroidX.

Edit: Forgot about my other favorite App, "Tv Listings for Android" and is a free download from the market. Just enter the zipcode and select OTA Tv.

We don't bother since the feds forced digital down our throats. We had many chioces with analog but with digital we get 3 sometimes. The web site shows us as fringe.

If the gov sells off the spectrum like the wireless providers want, this will not be necessary as there will be no OTA TV.

We camped at Lake Allatoona in N Georgia for Thanksgiving! Trees surrounded us but with the antenna up and boost on we had more channels than needed! From the TV Menu I go to channel set up then to scan for channels in TV/DTV and in about 10 minutes the DW is flippin channels and in her glory! I had installed the Winegard Wingman attachment before we went to Alaska and had tv in many unusual places!! My sons brother in law didn't have the attachment while in the campground with us but had excellent reception after we scanned for channels! He was very happy to find this out since he had been researching satellite dish options. If it pleases the DW I am happy since i seldom watch tv!
