toilet fuses
Greetings everyone!!
I've been lurking for a few weeks, so this is my first post on this board. My wife and I ordered a new Trailmanor 2720 to be delayed delivered the first of March. We are moving up from a popup. Thanks for all the great information and advise I have gotten from this board. It really helped us to make up our mind about the Trailmanor.
Somewhere I remember comments about the fuse on the toilet blowing. What type of fuse is it and how hard is it to change?
God Bless
Phil

Re: toilet fuses
It is an in line fuse. It involves removing the top cap, that holds the switch to flush the toilet, with two screws, and replacing the fuse. It is no big deal to replace it.Congratulations on becoming a TrailManor owner. When you acquire your new TM, please consider joining the TrailManor TrailBlazers.

Gene:
Thanks for the reply and invitation to join the Trailblazers. I sent a check to join last week. I'm anxiously waiting to see what the group is all about.
Doesn't sound like the fuse is a big deal. Just want to make sure I have a spare on hand.
God Bless
Phil

Re: toilet fuses
Attending TrailBlazer rallies is where you can receive the best information on maintaining and personalizing your TM. We help each other. The newsletter is now in the mail, so rallies should be posted on the TrailBlazer website very soon. One other benefit of being a TrailBlazer. When a member order parts from the factory, they are entitled to a 10% discount.

Re: toilet fuses
Phil,
I have a 2001 2619 and blew the toilet fuse a couple of times; unnerving in the middle of the night.
The original fuse was a 5 Amp, 250 V, AGC Quick blow glass fuse similar to what used to be used in automobiles. I replaced it with a 10 Amp (everything else the same) and had no further problems. It was what Radio Shack had available.
It probably should be a Slo-blo fuse to allow the pump motor to come up to speed before it senses the current draw but my fix seems to be working.
Hope this helps.
Dick

Re: toilet fuses
Thanks everyone for the input. Now when we go camping I will have replacement fuses ready so we can still "go".

Re: toilet fuses
I also experienced several blown fuses with the Thetford toilet on our 1999 3124King. I talked with the Thetford factory, very nice people, and they recommended going to a slightly higher amp fuse. I think I went from 5 to 8 and that seems to have solved the problem. Always keep some extra fuses on hand. Hope you enjoy your TM as much as we have enjoyed ours.
