newbie first trip question
Hi All
We just got a new 2013 2720 and are on our First outing. Learning things along the way. For one thing, need to practice trailer reversing! And note to self - bring firewood. More on our first trip later, but now for a question - How do you read the holding (gray water) monitor? Our has green light at the bottom then a yellow light then two red lights. We've been here least than one day. Please advise - sorry for such a simple question. Thanks in advance

Congrats on your first trip. It certainly is a learning experience. Hopefully no real difficult issues. The monitor will read from bottom to top. Red lights mean full. Green is good. That being said, not all of the sensors are accurate. Depends on where they are mounted on the tank. Lower side, middle side, top? It's hard to know. When I have full hookups, I keep my gray tank valve open and let it drain out to the campground drop. You can't do that with the toilet though. Leave a few gallons of gray water to flush the flexible sewer hose when you dump the toilet. Toilet first, then gray water to flush the line.
Happy camping...

open sewer
Rvcycle guy and all.
PLEASE NOTE.
When in a camp ground, it is common courtesy to cap off the sewer drop between empty's so as not to smell up the camp ground.
It is nice not to have to go back and forth opening and closing the tank and the sewer dump but it is the way it should be done for everybodys " comfort."
Thanks to all.

Cap off or close the t-handle valve? In my opinion, as long as the black t-valve is closed, there is no issue? I would bet that most TT model owners are draining their gray tank full time when set up for more than a couple of days. Thanks for the advice.

I do not recommend bringing firewood as depending where you live, you could be contributing to the spread of emerald ash borer. In some states it is illegal to bring/move wood.

As far as firewood goes, you are probably OK as long as you don't take any out of state. I usually fill a large Rubbermaid container with seasoned eucalyptus and a couple newspapers and that's enough for a three day weekend.
When we camp with hookups I have always kept my grey water drain open and have never had an odor issue. My drain adaptor has a very tight seal.

In Wisconsin there is generally a 25 mile radius that you can take firewood and that's it. For exactly the reason stated.

Hi All
Thanks for your replies. But, I am still confused about the grey water holding tank indicator. Do the lights turn green as the tank gets fuller? Our still show the bottom one green the next one is yellow and the top two are red. Please let us know. Thanks in advance

They light up as it fills. When the top light is lit you are full. (Or at least that is the way it is supposed to work if it is working.)

The lights go from green, being empty, to yellow as in half or three quarters full, to red meaning full and time to dump or drain it.
