Default Adding air conditioning to a TrailManor

I recently bought a Trailmanor 2619. It didn't come with the air conditioning. Has anyone had any experience using a portable air conditioning unit and dropping the exhaust hose out of the slots which are covered by the velcro seals next to the slide-out bed?

I figure A/C might not be used all that much, and I don't want to carry that weight around all the time.

Any thoughts?

The "old" TMs have a side mounted AC which is basically just a window unit mounted in the cabinet. If yours has the cabinetry set up for this, it might be the cheapest and easiest, the window units aren't real expensive at the big box stores - nothing like what a roof mount RV AC costs.

If you go with a portable roll-around unit, be sure to get one with TWO hoses. A single-hose (exhaust only) unit will not make you happy.

I presume you must port the two hoses out a window? Has anyone seen a clean installation? I have a 2619, sleeps 6 with beds on both sides. There's not much extra floor space, but I'm afraid of putting that heavy thing on the counter in fear it will fall off and hurt one of the kids. Bunjee? Set it in the sink? any thoughts?

My alternative plan is a Evaporative cooler, which wouldn't need any hose connections, just open windows. Might work for us here in Southern California, where the humidity is low. lightweight and inexpensive too. Might be able to run off battery as well.

Any thoughts appreciated

I have a portable 7k unit for use in the garage. It has one hose that exhausts the hot air out the back. Spec calls for 7.6A at 115Vac.
