Safe towing speed?
I just got a new (for me) TM - 2011 2720SL, and was wondering what is the safe towing speed for it?
I did have a 24' cargo trailer before, and it's specs mentioned that towing speed should not exceed 105km/h (65mph).
But I can't find anything like this for TM 2720.
My TV is X5d (diesel) with towing capacity of 7700lb and hitch is rated at 8000lb, so, no restrictions here
Thank you!

I rarely ever exceed 60 mph, not only because it's safer, but also because fuel economy takes a huge dump at anything faster.

Well, fuel economy does not concern me too much. Last weekend on our first maiden trip through the mountain roads of Vancouver Island I had 20mpg.
Empty car in regular driving - 24mpg. So, not too big of a difference.

Your tires have a rating, good idea to not exceed it😜

Good point, thank you! Then, I guess - other than tires speed rating - trailer's suspension could handle pretty much any normal speed?
I am not looking at "racing" with trailer, but some of our highways have a speed limit of 120km/h and regular traffic speed is usually 130-135km/h (80-85mph), just wanted to be sure that it is safe for a TM.
Especially remembering that my previous cargo trailer was limited at 105km/h...

I try to stay about 60-65 when I'm pulling my TM. There's also the stopping part of pulling a trailer we must be mindful of.

60-65 MPH. Keep to the right. Keep your eyes open at intersections and hwy Merges. Listen to good music. Smile and bless the people whizzing by, praying for a safe journey for them.

I could not find the mph rating for my tires. It's not on tires (that I could find) and it's not on the Maxxis website (again, that I could find). Any suggestions?

I didn't look at TM's tires (at work now) but tire's speed rating is usually a letter at the end of size code. Like here - ' S':
225/50 SR16 112 mph, 180 km/h

ST (special trailer) tires are rated for 65 mph with the correct inflation for the load. I use that for a cruising speed but have had no problem with brief excursions for passing.
Some tires have a different rating but the two biggest causes of tire failure are overloading and underinflation.
Radials are more accommodating to deformation than bias tires so do not heat up as fast under the same conditions. I consider a nylon cap additional protection. And for the very nervous it is hard to beat a TPMS.
