Linex roof
My 2720 went through a recent hailstorm and suffered some cosmetic damage. I just took it to a rv collision repair shop and they are suggesting linex on the tops to hide the dimples and protect it from future hail. Anyone hear of this on a TM? Linex is 50% flexible as I understand so it should work in my opinion. Any thoughts ideas or comments?

How much would it weigh? You very well could end up having to get new torsion bars, which are not cheap.

I saw an article somewhere that a full size rv added about 200 pounds with linex.

This is very interesting! If you did this, would you never have to worry about the caulk on the roof again? I'm thinking about that trim piece that runs down the middle in particular.

Others who have added very large solar arrays (most people don't do this) can speak more authoritatively on the subject, but I suspect that adding 200 lbs to the roof (100 lbs each shell) would require new torsion bars. It would certainly be easy enough to test -- throw a few sand bags up there!

Two 15lb 100W solar panels, cables, and mounts on the rear module have the torsion bars near maxed on mine. Don't forget, for the first few inches you are lifeting the module near straight up.

What do the torsion bars actually do? Assist lifting the shells?
