Default Fresh Water Tank

I'm getting ready to close my TM, going on a boondocking trip in a week or so, I would like to fill the 20 gal. fresh water tank before I close it. Thought of maybe putting some bleach in the tank seeing as it maybe sitting for a couple of weeks anybody know what the minium I should put in?

The Trailmanor owner's manual has a section on sanitizing. I believe you mix 1/2 cup of bleach for every gallon and let it sit for a short time. I forgot how long, but a week is definitely overkill. You should run all water systems until you smell bleach through every tap. Leaving bleach in the hot water tank would corrode the anode rod and other metallic components very rapidly, so don't leavet bleach in the hot water tank for long, at least. Then flush everything out with fresh water.

After a week I stil do have the bleach in my storage tank, but that's only because I haven't had a chance to clean it out yet.

I have a pool, and a big ol' jug of the sodium dichlor left over from my conversion to salt, so I just use a tiny little bit of that in the system (1/4 tsp or less), run it out the taps, maybe leave it for a few hours or overnight, then just drain the tanks. I do this once at the beginning of the season, only. Never had an issue.

We don't beach offend. Maybe once a year. We are on well water, non-chlorinated.

When I lived at houses with chlorinated water. I only beached the system when I first got the camper. I counted on the chorine in the water supply after that.
