Thanks Bill. I have a couple of other small projects to finish up before we head out in 2 weeks, but I’ll take a look at that cold water tap and see if I can dismantle it without creating more trouble. I can’t see it being much different than any other standard faucet cartridge.

I did notice that the hot water flow is also improved, though it wasn’t as compromised as the cold. Cold was pathetic!

Default To work the diverter out -

I used a pair of long needle nose pliers. Make sure the diverter is clear of the threads by
loosening it with a 3/8" allen wrench.

The technique for the pliers is reversed, though, as I put the nose ends into the diverter,
and then pushed outward on the ends of the pliers handles. That makes the needle
nose ends grip the inside of the nylon center circle. Then try to lift it upwards. This will
probably take several attempts, but it should loosen and eventually lift upwards and out.

Plumbers have special tools to do this real quick, but I don't know what they are.

I think the diverter lasted about 12 years, so that is good. The new diverter works like new.

Happy Camping!

Thanks Mick. I tried that but couldn't get it to budge, and since i wasn't positive that was the route to go, I quit before I mucked it up! Just about to take a short hop over to Nanaimo for a week.
I suspect that the diverter itself may be OK but there might be some debris on the cold side that was blocking it, and as Bill mentioned, is now moved out of the way (though also temporarily).
I'll order in a new diverter anyway, and work on dismantling the cold faucet to check for stray bits 'n bobs... but I will wait until after we get back. If I have a new diverter, if I muck up the old one in the process, it won't matter much.
