Bill,

If you carefully remove the screen on the connector you will see the check valve. I had the same issue when dry camping two years ago except mine was a slow leak. Since the system was slowly losing pressure over time, the 12 volt water pump would occasionally start then quickly stop - somewhat aggravating.

You might shop around for prices. This replacement part is a little different than my OEM but it works fine. I was able to reach in under the sink and unscrew the pex hose from the city water connection. Installing the relacement was as simple as threading the pex connector onto the back of the device.
