Nice summary, Joel. Also seems to point out that even on TM's smallest model (except the older 2518), it is very easy to get very close to the TM's axle rating of 3,500 lbs, especially if you carry water.

First, it's obvious that the front axle of the truck ("steer axle") loses about 120 pounds with the TM on the back.
According to the numbers you posted, it looks like the steer axle loses 220 lbs when you hitch up the TM.
