That is correct! When I bought my 2720SL, I also got a Reese WDH from the TM dealer...with the 550 lb bars. Found out that when loaded for travel, my TM's hitch weight is around 520 lbs and I was getting binding in the bar-chains whenever I tightened them enough to level the tow vehicle. So I got a set of 750 lb bars and found they worked perfectly with reasonable tightening (4 links dropped).

Depending on how you load a 3023 you could probably hit a 600 lb hitch weight which is going to require at least 5 dropped links on 750 lb bars. I too have an '03 Tundra and have noticed the rear springs on this truck are somewhat soft...targeted more for a comfy ride than good weight carrying. So, IMHO, the 1000 lb bars are probably just about right for a Tundra/3023 combination...might be a bit stiff but given the 3023's high hitch weight and soft rear springs on the Tundra, probably a better solution than 750 lb bars. I might add that replacement bars are not cheap either...list price is around $200 for the pair. So I'd just try the 1000 lb bars and see how they work out.
