All cvt's are not created the same. I forget the definitions as explained to me by an Infiniti and Lexus dealer, but the "cheaper" ones are stressed by more frequent towing while the other kind is not. For example they admitted that frequent towing would be bad for the drive train on the Murano, but not on the system used by Infiniti or Lexus. I think the Murano has a belt drive and the others are hydraulic. So it would depend which one Nissan chose to put on the Pathfinder.
