I don't have the cords hanging down when the unit is down. The cords are tied to the arms and there is a little slack at the arm/top shell intersection that has a lose tie wrap that is connected to a loop that holds the lose cord up when the shell is down. I don't have a pic of it, but sure someone has a pic??
