OP, there should be sufficient slack in the cords at the "upper" end of the lift arm so that the cords are not pulled tight by lifting or lowering of the shell. If there is not sufficient slack, you may need to pull some of the wiring from under the body, up the lift arm to allow for sufficient slack.

Let us know what you find. The zip ties are on all of our units, and we don't have to remove them to open or close our TMs.
