Mine are zipped to the lift arm. There is a happy medium between too tight and too loose. There should be several plastic guides on that lift arm that secure the heavy cord and on mine, several smaller wires run on the backside channel or inside of the lift arm behind the white plastic cover that runs the length of that arm. My unit is stored off site from my home so I cannot provide a photo at this time.
