Insurance is ratted using claim data for the area you live. I think the issue with FL is, there are to many claims. I think FL claims has to do with the RV population is older and there is a higher average value of RV's. So more claims are made to keep the high end RV's free of dings and the aging population dings them up more.

I know my FIL had no claims on their campers from the early 1960's, but about 35 years latter in the late 1990's. They were in their mid to late 70's. It seemed every other year it was being repaired. By the time they hit their 80's. I was offering to drive it to FL for the snow bird season and fly back and return to bring it back north. The DW just could not sleep with them on the road pulling the 31' trailer.
