Not using any kind of extension cord will help. If there is a breaker to the TM converter (I believe mine has one), turning that off (as well as all the other AC appliances) will also help.

I have an older TM, so my AC is one of the window-mount units. That runs in a 15-amp circuit no problem, but the roof mounted units typically draw more current.
