Definitely get one. I'm 58 and retirement is a ways away but we camp a LOT.

Another advantage is that you will develop experience and find out what your own camping style is. When we frist started my intention was to have a "hotel room" on wheels so we could avoid the discomfort of strange beds and strange food.

It turned out very differently indeed. We liked the remote places so much that we camp almost exclusively without hookups.

When you do retire you'll have a much better sense of what you want to do.

If you buy used your investment won't be that high.
