I'm not sure why you want to replace the incandescent bulbs with LEDs. The usual advantage of LEDs is the low power draw, but if they are being powered by the truck engine/alternator, you don't care about low power. While I agree with your diagnosis of LEDs not drawing enough current, I wouldn't put much effort or cash into trying to fool the truck's sensors.

Just my thought. I would go with the easy solution now, and worry about the future lights when the future arrives.
