I'm not a fan (pun not intended) of using those kinds of fans. When not needed, ya toss them in a drawer and if you don't use it for whatever time frame the battery could leak, which sucks. I've been using a 4" usb powered fan with a small battery pack. I can use the battery pack for other needs and it's rechargeable.

We've been using the same cube fan for years. The temp in the fridge stays nice and even.
We do take the batteries out when we shut down the fridge. The USB cable to a portable phone charger is a great idea. I have a few of those laying around.
