we are looking to purchase a vehicle for towing a trailer.the 4runner type vehicle seems under-sized to safely pull a 3500 to 4000 pound trailer. we have driven small to mid size suvs and trucks and they just don't feel substantial enough. recently watched a newer tacoma pulling a small trailer try to stop to avoid an accident. the trailer jack knifed and was hit by a box truck. i think a larger vehicle would have been able to stop in time. we're planning on looking at full size suvs and pickups next. once we have a vehicle to tow with, we will be looking to buy a trailmanor.
