Yes we got this option in our 2011/2720 and never regretted it. It does go in place of the oven which we had one of in our previous Trailers and never used. The microwave get fairly heavy use especially when we have the grandkids with us for two weeks. It is basically a matter of taste and choice. Good luck with yours and happy trailering. Oh, by the way the factory unit we got in ours was a Dometic and not a convection type.
