I beg to differ. I own a similar forum (specific interest @
http://www.jeepboard.com) with over 15,000 users that receives many hundreds of thousands of page views per
month, and I don't charge my users a single dime. I surely don't impede their posting privileges or rights for failure to contribute monetarily.
And $12? With over 2,000 users - even if only 1/4 of those are paid members - $6,000 is a bit much for software, hosting, and a $9 domain name. The owner is being ripped off, and badly, if he's not showing a profit to big brother.
That said,
this IS a great forum. I'm just wondering how many
useful members are turned away daily by the imposed membership fee.
