Your comments are certainly well-taken. I think (always dangerous) there is a way to use the VIN to determine the presence of major systems like the towing package??? Yes?? No?? Years ago I emailed my 2005 Jeep Wrangler's corp headquarters, giving my VIN and asking for a Build Sheet. It showed up in my Inbox an hour later. It was pages long, and showed everything right down to the color of the knobs on the radio.
