Interesting that the inlet for the 20 vs the 40 is different, you would think from a standardization point of view they would keep the inlet/pump/plumbing locations the same and just swap out the tank. Maybe that's what they do now, but from an engineering/cost standpoint, the more standard you can make something, the cheaper it is.

The bigger tank goes under a couch on the QB/KB models and the smaller tank usually winds up inside a cabinet in the kitchen on the slide models since there can’t be anything in that space where the slide comes in. But yeah I bet if they could standardize the inlet, they would.
If I ever figure out how to convert my 3326 from KS to KB I’ve thought about adding the 40 gallon tank and piggybacking it with the 20 gallon tank that’s already there for some serious capacity.
