Honestly, the shower has only been used a couple of times. The walls were fine and the silicone foldable weather-stripping is still attached pliable. No leaks that I noticed. My biggest problem is that I'm pretty big and it's still tight and a bit claustrophobic. In a pinch or pandemic though it's definitely workable. This isn't a testimony, but it seems to work well. I'd be interested in what plastic bathroom wall paneling you're considering. I'm a fan of FRP, but that may be too thick and heavy to be a solution.
