I have the smaller engine (4.6 or 4.7, can't remember) in my Sequoia, which is built on the Tundra platform. It's the earlier design, which was revamped into its current form in 2008 or so. I've towed the TM with the Sequoia for probably 25,000 miles, and not once have I ever felt it was underpowered. Sometimes I felt the suspension was a little too soft when towing (which probably wouldn't be the case in a pickup), and the brakes could sometimes use a little beefing up for panic stops or long downgrades, but never felt it was too weak for power.

And our TM weighs ~4,000 lbs wet.

Overall, I've been very pleased.

Dave
