While your WDH may add about 100 lbs to your hitch weight, you must use a WDH. It keeps your TV much more balanced, when properly set up. If you don't use the WDH, you will have your front-end way too light, which is dangerous (and will have your headlights in oncoming drivers' eyes at night).
Don't try to accelerate too fast, and you will put less stress on the tranny.
