P and B, like your idea... but already did the same a couple months ago prior to reading your post today (9/30/10). I liked the fact that the Matchstick blinds (matchstickblinds.com) were cheap and easy to resize to meet your needs. I did the extra bit by making liners out of thick/dark material and adding velcro to the blinds and liners for removal purposes.. also 'hemmed' in ties on the liners so they could be rolled up on the blinds rather than removing. The matchstick blinds (mine are made of reeds, lower cost) add a nicer touch to the interior decor. I also replaced all the corner ceiling trim with real wood stained to match the cabinetry.
