When getting the new tires, I would have metal valve stems installed - they aren't that much extra, should last longer and minimize another point of failure.

I believe a lot of tire failures were actually caused by faulty rubber valve stems from China (there was a BIG recall a few years ago).

Also, be sure the shop balances the tires. My tires were not balanced by the factory. I had them balanced by the shop that installed my metal stems - the toilet paper in the bathroom has stayed on the roll since then
