I think is depends on the campsite. In some cases pop-ups may get assigned more wooded sites (aka desirable ) vs an open pad. In others pop-ups may be assigned smaller sites that will not work for the TM. Also be aware that in areas with dangerous wildlife, pop-ups (aka soft side campers) may not be allowed during some times of the year. In northern regions where campsites may partially close during winter months, pop-ups may not be allowed as they are presumed not to be self contained. This may also apply to some primitive federal areas.
