It is the 5.0 V-8. No particular reason, except that we had to choose from trucks that were in stock somewhere within a reasonable distance of us. No time to order from the factory. I was prepared to go either way, but the truck that met our needs had a V-8, and no acceptable truck had the Eco-Boost. From what I read, there isn't a lot of difference in mpg, but at high altitude, the Eco-Boost should outshine the V-8.
