OK.......Here's what we know (we think)......
5000# tow rating - 4000#~ trailer = 1000# for passengers, cargo and fuel as long as it does not exceed GCWR (if you can figure that out).
From everything that I can see, the dry weight on your Highlander is about 4000#. If you have 1000# in passengers and cargo and ~4000# in trailer, you will need a GCWR of over 9000#.
