Default Chair foot rest tension adjustment?

I got lucky by finding and buying a TM 2720! Never thought it would happen!

First mod was to remove the recliner chair very carefully through the front,
and now that chair is my favorite one in our sunroom. It is the right size there.

The foot rest rises, but it does not have enough tension to stay up.
I see no adjustment, like some chairs have.

Has anyone been able to add tension to the foot rest?

I see more mods coming...

Well, I sort of experimented with the metal lever on the right side of the seat,
and the procedure is:
1. Sit in the chair and pull rearwards on the lever to raise the foot rest.
2. Push forward on the lever about 2" and let it stay there. An internal
friction device is engaged that will keep the foot rest elevated.
3. To disengage the friction device, pull rearward a couple of inches on
the lever and the foot rest can easily be lowered.

I do enjoy this chair, and sit in it almost daily.
We enjoyed our first camping trip without the seat in the camper.
The extra space in the camper was appreciated and the camper is a keeper!
