Default Replacing 7 way bargman cable?

When I purchased my 2015 model 2417 from the previous owner last year, the 7 way cable was duct taped and had clearly had some form of damage (1st photo). It has worked so far but takes a lot of wiggling to get all lights working correctly, and I noticed on our last trip that if I wiggle that taped part of the wire, the lights and brake controller signal go in and out. Given the importance of those systems, I’d like to go ahead and replace that cord. But I’d rather not deal with rats nets of wiring in behind the fridge and routing the cable through the frame.

Can I purchase something like this

And cut the current cord upstream of the damaged part (2nd photo), and connect the old/new wiring in the junction box?
