If you look at the website for the power lift and view the videos, you will notice that you still need to step on the stirrup to engage the latch. This, I believe, is the hardest part of closing the trailer and the power lift doesn't do that part for you. However, I am convinced that if the torsion bars aren't equally adjusted from side to side, which can occur if one torsion bar fatigues with age faster than the other side, the shell tends to jamb and is difficult to close. It does help to have a second person on the other side pressing down at the same time.

Others have made levers to help with the final closure.
