When we bought our 2417, a 13" wheel was standard, and a 14" was extra. So, we have the 14 inch, with the higher axle (actually, I do not believe the axle is higher, but there is some sort of spacer to raise the trailer, but I am not sure). We do not plan to take it off road, but we have a steep part of our driveway, and need the extra clearance. It is fine.
