Lightbulb For the transmission ...

publicizing a private message we already shared:

Focus on how to control the Toyota Tranny's "lock up" mode. Instructions here, read carefully: http://www.trailmanorowners.com/foru...ead.php?t=5982

After a few days of dong this, you won't even need to look at the RPMs - you'll be able to hear "lock" and "unlock" with your ears, and feel it through your gas pedal. But you must follow that procedure in order to FORCE "lock up" while going uphill. When you're going up a long hill, you don't want the clutch parts slipping on the fluid - THAT'S what causes the heat you're worried about. (It also wears out the Transmission.)
