No. I don't think anything will actually adhere strong enough to seal a leak in any tank. Polyethylene has an oil of some kind that keeps working it's way to the surface and sluffing off anything that tries to adhere to it.
I have tried everything that is advertised as, "Adheres to polyethylene" and every one has failed.
The only thing that works is welding polyethylene with polyethylene welding rod and it must be welded with a controlled temperature.
